This Privacy Policy explains how Shenzhen Jinyutao Technology Co., Ltd. (深圳市金誉涛科技有限公司, “AOTAOREC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the AOTAOREC Recorder mobile application (the “App”), this website, and the AOTAOREC Community forum. The Android application identifier and the iOS bundle identifier are com.aotaorec.recorder.

2. Recordings and local transfers
The app does not automatically upload recordings to AOTAOREC. Recorder files are transferred to your phone only when you start a download or enable the app's local automatic download while the recorder is idle. You decide whether to play, share, transcribe, enhance, delete, or keep each copy. Recordings and transcripts are stored in app-controlled storage on your phone and are removed when you delete them, clear app data, or uninstall the app.
3. AI features and offline models
AI voice enhancement and offline transcription run on your phone using models stored on the device. Recording audio is not uploaded to AOTAOREC or to an AI provider for these features. Downloading an offline model contacts AOTAOREC's model endpoint over HTTPS; if that endpoint is unavailable the app may use the disclosed open-source model host. Model downloads are ordinary web requests and do not include your recordings or transcripts.
4. Community forum account and posts
The forum is optional and separate from the app. If you create a forum account we store your email address, a salted password hash (never the password itself), your display name, your posts and replies, a session record, and the time of your last activity. Your display name and posts are public. Your email address is not shown to other visitors.
Forum content is stored on Cloudflare infrastructure on our behalf. You can ask us to delete your account and posts by emailing support@aotaorec.com. Do not post personal information, recordings of other people, or anything you are not allowed to share.
5. This website
The public website is a static site served by Cloudflare. It sets one functional cookie (aotaorec_lang) and one local-storage value so your chosen language is remembered; neither is used to track you. The site contains no advertising, no analytics scripts, and no third-party trackers. Standard web-server logs (including IP address, user agent, and requested URL) may be kept by our hosting provider for security and reliability.
6. Device access and permissions
- Nearby devices / Bluetooth: scan for and connect to compatible recorders.
- Location on Android 11 and earlier: required by those Android versions for Bluetooth scanning. The app does not use GPS location.
- Files or USB storage you select: import or manage only the files and storage location you choose through the operating system.
- Notifications: show active file-transfer or firmware-update progress and a stop action.
- Foreground service and wake lock: finish a user-started transfer while the screen is off, then stop when the task completes or is canceled.
- Internet: check and download signed firmware, download an optional offline speech model at your request, and open support resources.
The app does not request access to the phone's microphone.
7. Legal bases and your choices
Where applicable, we process information to provide the features you request, respond to your support request, protect the app and firmware service, and comply with law. You can decline optional permissions, stop Listen While Recording, cancel a transfer, remove downloaded files, clear app data, uninstall the app, or omit diagnostics from a support email. You can browse the public website without creating an account.
8. Sharing and sale
We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Information may be processed by service providers that support hosting, email, firmware delivery, or optional offline-model delivery; by a destination you select through system sharing; or when required by law or necessary to protect rights and safety.
9. International processing
AOTAOREC is operated from China and our service providers, including our hosting provider, may operate in other countries. If you contact support or use the forum, your information may be processed in countries outside your place of residence, subject to applicable safeguards and law.
10. Security and retention
We use measures appropriate to the nature of the information, including encrypted HTTPS firmware and model delivery, signed update metadata, cryptographic model checks, salted password hashing, app-private file storage, and saved recorder pairings. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
Local recordings and settings remain until you delete them, clear app data, uninstall the app, or the operating system removes them. Forum accounts and posts remain until you delete them or ask us to. Security logs and support correspondence are retained only as reasonably necessary for their stated purposes and legal obligations.
11. Children
The app and the forum are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information through support or the forum.
12. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of personal information held by us. Because the app has no user account and most data stays on your devices, we may only hold information that you voluntarily sent to support or posted in the forum. Contact us to make a request; we may need to verify that the request relates to you.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when app behavior, service providers, or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised policy here and update the effective date. Material changes will be communicated in the app or through another appropriate channel when required.
