These Terms of Use govern the AOTAOREC Recorder mobile application, the AOTAOREC Community forum, and related support resources provided by Shenzhen Jinyutao Technology Co., Ltd. (深圳市金誉涛科技有限公司, “AOTAOREC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the app, the forum, or this website, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
1. Companion application
The app controls and manages compatible AOTAOREC recording hardware. Device support, available settings, transfer speed, radio range, storage, and audio behaviour depend on the recorder model, firmware, phone, operating system, and surrounding conditions.
2. Lawful and responsible recording
Do not use the app or recorder to violate privacy, communications, employment, surveillance, intellectual-property, or other laws; to threaten or harass; or to interfere with another person's rights. Listen While Recording must be started by the user, requires the protected recorder link, and is designed for foreground use.
3. Your files and backups
You are responsible for recordings and other files stored on the recorder or phone. Back up important files before formatting storage, resetting a phone, uninstalling the app, repairing a recorder, or installing firmware. Deleting or formatting files may be permanent.
4. Firmware updates
Use only firmware offered for the exact supported product and hardware revision. Keep sufficient power and do not interrupt installation. We may withdraw an update, require a later version, or limit update availability when necessary for compatibility or safety.
5. Community forum
The forum is provided for user-to-user discussion. You are responsible for what you post. Do not post unlawful content, threats, harassment, spam, advertising, malware, other people's personal information, or recordings made without the consent required where you are. We may remove posts, lock topics, suspend accounts, or close the forum where reasonably necessary to keep it usable and lawful.
Forum posts are public and may be indexed by search engines. Do not rely on the forum for private support; email support@aotaorec.com for order, warranty, or repair matters.
6. Acceptable use
You may not:
- circumvent recorder ownership, pairing, update verification, or security controls;
- introduce malicious code or interfere with the app, firmware service, forum, or another device;
- misrepresent affiliation with AOTAOREC or use our branding in a misleading way;
- use the app, recorder, or forum in a way that violates applicable law or another person's rights.
7. Availability and changes
We may update the app, supported firmware, documentation, the forum, or online services to improve security, compatibility, or operation. Some features may be changed or unavailable because of hardware limitations, phone-manufacturer restrictions, network conditions, or legal requirements.
8. No emergency or safety-critical use
The app and recorder are not emergency, medical, life-safety, security-alarm, or guaranteed evidence-preservation services. Do not rely on them where a missed recording, delayed transfer, disconnection, or data loss could cause injury or serious harm.
9. Warranty and liability
Product warranty rights are governed by the terms supplied with the recorder and by any mandatory consumer law. To the extent permitted by law, the app, the forum, and online resources are provided without guarantees of uninterrupted or error-free operation. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Intellectual property
The app, firmware, website, forum, AOTAOREC branding, and related materials are owned by AOTAOREC or its licensors and are protected by applicable laws. These Terms give you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the app with a compatible recorder for its intended purpose. You keep ownership of the content you post, and grant us a licence to host and display it on the forum.
11. Termination
You may stop using the app or forum at any time. We may restrict access to online services or forum accounts where reasonably necessary to address unlawful use, security threats, or material violations of these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive will remain effective.
12. Governing requirements
These Terms are subject to applicable law, including mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence. Before starting legal proceedings, contact us so we can try to resolve the issue directly.
